Among the four models in Motorola-Lenovo's new Moto G7 line-up, Futura has upgraded the Moto G7 Power. A cheap model with a battery promising exceptional autonomy. Is this the only argument of this smartphone?
Unveiled on February 7, Motorola-Lenovo's new Moto G7 line features four models. The star smartphone is the Moto G7 Plus. It is the most talented picture with its double-sensor photo. Its Lite version has a processor a little behind and one of the photosensors is less powerful. For the budget, the entry level is the Moto 7 Play. Aside from the latter whose screen is limited to 5.7 inches, all have a diagonal display of 6.2 inches. Futura was interested in the Moto G7 Power, a model apart that intrigued him for his low price, relatively balanced technical specifications and, above all, the promise of consistent autonomy. Let's go around this Moto G7 Power.
The promise: a balanced configuration
The Moto G7 Power features a 6.2-inch display with the now traditional notch for its 8-megapixel front camera. A diagonal equivalent to that of the Google Pixel 3, for example. We can not say that the definition is exceptional since it caps at 1,512 x 720 pixels with a ratio of 19.5 / 9, while the Moto G7 Plus displays 2,270 x 1,080 pixels. A lower density so, but absolutely not crippling. The mobile has 4 GB of RAMand 64GB of storage capacity. It is also possible to expand the memory with a microSDXC card (max 512 GB). A very good combination compared to the mobile rate. The processor that drives this G7 Power is a Snapdragon 632 from Qualcomm, a chip from last summer for smartphones at low prices. However, it incorporates high-performance cores that were then on higher ranges. With the average definition of the mobile and the unique photo sensor on the back, this SoC should deliver more than adequate performance. But the argument club, it is the capacity of its battery!
The killer option: the champion of autonomy
Power! It is the extension that qualifies the essential asset of this Moto G7. And Moto did not go dead hand with his 5,000 mAh battery. Given the definition of the screen and a thrifty chip, the mobile certainly beats records. Lenovo claims it has a 60-hour battery life! An assertion that will certainly not match the reality but, like the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 that Futura has detailed, this huge capacity probably places it on the podium of the most autonomous smartphones. In its category, it is certainly even more autonomous than the ZenFone Max Pro M1which had a faster processor and a higher definition. It may be even more so than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with its 5.500 mAh battery. Recall that the champion in all categories remains the Oukitel K10000 with its 10,000 mAh battery! Finally, a rare thing for a mobile of this range, Motorola has taken care to integrate the fast charge with its technology TurboPower. It would only take 15 minutes to get eight hours of battery life.
We ask to see: the quality of the pictures
Finally, this G7 Power basically takes the technical sheet of the G7, but with a single photo module on the back. It has a 12-megapixel sensor and f / 2.0 aperture. As on the old Moto, the flash and the optics are gathered in around the block. Without being seer and even if multiply the sensors is not necessarily a guarantee of quality, this unique mobile is certainly not the champion of the photo. Below, is the fingerprint sensor. The brand had a good idea to engrave its logo.
At that price, what am I?
On the same price range, the closest competitor remains the Asus Max Pro M1. Powerful, with a dual photosensor and also a 5,000 mAh battery, it is probably a step above the Moto G7 Power. On the other hand, it is certainly less enduring. Finally, unlike him, he has a USB type C and a fast charger. A good point when you know the load time of ZenFone. Finally, its polycarbonate shell and its aluminum contour make it mobile with a solid appearance. Its "porthole" in the back immediately reminds that it is a Motorola.
Where will it be found?
The mobile has just come out. Available at a price of 229.99 euros, it is available in black, blue and purple. In any case, it is found at Amazon.
Futura's review
With balanced components for its range, the Moto G7 Power would not have much extraordinary without its 5,000 mAh battery. This is really what makes the difference and that could attract the most nomads wagering on an economic mobile. On the photo side, do not expect miracles because of the absence of an optical stabilizer or powerful autofocus.
